The Origin of Tap House Jiu-Jitsu

Established in 2021, Tap House Jiu Jitsu was founded by Robert Bloom, Jon Tepedino & Dietrich Trumbauer located in Galloway Township New Jersey. After 1 year of operation Tap House Jiu-Jitsu became the first Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center ® in NJ in the year of 2022. Now following two additional years of operation Taphouse Jiu Jitsu is a Level 3 Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center ® by having 3 Certified Gracie Jiu Jitsu Instructors. Additionally, Tap House Jiu-Jitsu has the pleasure of receiving instruction from 4th Degree Black Belt Rich Komar, who is a black belt under Phil & Ricardo Migliarese. The friendly environment of the Tap House Jiu-Jitsu is one of its most distinguishing characteristics. While most other schools promote an egotistical “tough guy” environment, which can be very unwelcoming and dangerous for the students, us at Tap House adopted the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu teaching methodology which ensures each and every trip to the Academy is a safe, fun and encouraging experience for all students, especially those with little or no experience. We expect all students to display the utmost respect and courtesy towards one another and to maintain safety as their first priority.
